General Department of Drilling

This Department shall undertake the following tasks and functions:

1. Supervision and technical monitoring of various exploration and development drilling operations in the exploration blocks.

2. Field follow up of approved well drilling operations program.

3. Consideration of technical programs proposed for drilling exploration and development wells (drilling fluid programs, casement, tests) and approval of drilling technical documents submitted by companies.

4. Giving technical advice to committees on the offers pertaining to drilling works.

5. Setting up pricing studies for the various materials and equipment used in drilling operations.

6. Monitoring economic costs for the various drilling operations.

7. Receiving and analysis of all reports on the various drilling operations carried out by operating companies.

8. Giving advice on the quantity and quantity of materials and equipment imported and used by the operating companies in drilling and supporting operations.

9. Evaluation of performance level of the various drilling operations and setting up comparisons between expected and actual drawings.

10. Coordination of its activities with the other General Department in the Sector and Board.

11. Proposing its training needs in the field of its activity.

12. Presentation of regular reports on its activities and achievement.

13. Any other tasks entailed by the nature of its functions.
